Catching the Vision

The Vision 

At MLEFC we believe God’s mission to redeem the world for His own glory is the primary storyline of the Bible. To make this happen, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into this world to give his life away as a blessing for others by dying on the cross. Jesus then sent his disciples to follow in his footsteps by giving away their lives for the good of others. Therefore, as a community, we resist the tendency to view the church primarily as a club for Christians to come and have their needs met; instead, we desire to live out the gospel by bringing the love of Christ into our homes, our neighborhoods, our schools, our places of employment, and throughout the world.

The redeeming work of God the Father through his Son Jesus Christ is a theme that is consistent throughout scripture. We respond, by grace through faith, to what God has done for us by living out the gospel in our daily lives. Is this a new way of thinking? No, it is as ancient as God’s precious Word, but it is easily forgotten among the busyness of American life, a deep rooted consumer mentality, and the millions of other distractions we are tempted with every day.
